Don’t Carry It… Cast It Before You Explode

“Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

– 1 Peter 5:7

God invites us to bring Him all our cares, our worries, the weights we carry, and the sin that so easily besets us.

He doesn’t ask us to sort it out first or make it look presentable. He doesn’t tell us to carry it until we’re stronger or hold it until we’ve gotten it under control. He simply calls us to cast it all on Him. Every offense that angers us, every burden that drains us, every fear that keeps us up at night, every habit that trips us up, every thought that pulls us down, and every place where we feel stuck or ashamed.

God knows the danger that sits behind unseen built‑up pressure and the mess it can cause if it’s never released.

Think about a pop bottle.

A pop bottle can endure a lot without anyone noticing it. It can be dropped, shaken, tossed around, and still look perfectly fine on the outside. You can hold it in your hand and never know how much pressure is building inside. But the moment you open it, everything that was trapped explodes. It spills everywhere and makes a mess on everything close to it.

We can move through days, weeks, months, and even years shaken up, dropped, tossed around, and keep it all bottled in because we’re so used to being strong, we don’t want to burden anyone, or we think we can manage it alone. But we can only carry so much for so long before we explode, and when we do, it can affect the people closest to us in ways we never intended.

The after effect of the explosion can take longer to clean up than the moment that caused it, leaving stains and residue on our connections, our community, our family, our friendships, and our relationships.

The anger, the frustration, the irritation, the disappointment, the anxiety, the hurt, the offense, the unforgiveness, it all needs somewhere to go, so cast it on God. He can handle what you have been holding.

When you stop bottling things up, your relationships become healthier, your reactions become calmer, your decisions become clearer, your spirit becomes lighter, and your connection with God becomes deeper.

So don’t carry it CAST IT!
